Welcome to the Giles website! Do you like walking in the Yorkshire Dales? Then look no further! This web site is to advertise my Yorkshire Dales 'Pub in the Middle' Circular Walks books. The main motivation for writing these books was to design walks that have a good food and fine ale pub in the middle. The objective is to have the majority of the difficult walking done prior to lunch to work up a good appetite. The post-lunch walk is usually a gentle ramble back to the car. All these quality walks and pubs(!) are extensively tested prior to publication.

The Forresters Arms in Coverdale has re-opened as a community pub.

Winter dales walking is recommended as it is quieter and once moving, you don’t feel the cold. It is, however, important to take notice of the walking times, as it becomes darker earlier. In winter, the pub in the middle is a welcome refuge, especially in bad weather. I have included web links for the pubs and local places of interest, so that the area can be researched prior to your visit.

book 2 contains 12 more outstanding Further Yorkshire Dales Walks with a 'pub in the middle' in laser printed colour featuring Buckden Pike, Pen-y-ghent and the highest pub in England. NORTH YORK MOORS 'PUB IN THE MIDDLE' CIRCULAR WALKS BOOK IS FINALLY AVAILABLE!!! The books are unavailable for sale at the minute until I sort out a technical hitch.
